There are several ways you can jump in and support the PTO by investing nothing but a little time in these no cost programs. The majority of the funding received by the PTO is earned through everyone’s participation in the below areas.
Book Fair - The book fair provides for the sale of books to students, family and staff at reasonable prices. There is a special "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" sale in the spring and an Evening Family Night during each sale. Through a local business, we can ensure each child is eligible to receive a book.
In School Assemblies – The PTO sponsors five to six assemblies on various topics each year. They are funded in part by a grant from the Warren County Cultural and Heritage Commission. Topics have included Famous Americans, The Environment, Geology and History.
Instrumental Music - A cooperative after school program for grades 4-8 provides small group instruction in band instruments, membership in the White Township School Recorder, Cadet or Advanced Bands and the opportunity to join other bands in competition and demonstrations. The Instrumental Music program hosts two concerts and an in-school assembly each year and is paid for by a small tuition payment by families, supplemented by PTO funds and Board of Education.
After-School Clubs - We are running after school special interest groups for the children. We are looking for volunteers to head up these groups. Do you have a hobby, special interest or talent you can share with kids?
School Assignment Books - A free, color, 8x11 assignment books are given to each student in grades 1-8 in September.
